2007 Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada: For over 60 years, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop (CCCB) has been assisting the Church in Canada. Today, it remains at the service of families. The Bishop’s collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada will be held Sunday, Sep30, 2007.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) If you are interested in becoming a member of the Catholic Church, or are wishing to return to the Church after being away for a while, or wanting to complete the Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and/or Eucharist) then join us at RCIA. We meet each Tuesday evening at 7:30 at Good Shepherd in the Family room. For more information, please call Pat LaViolette or the Parish office at 824-4394.
Volunteers Needed:Altar servers are needed for all the weekend Masses. For more information or to volunteer contact Mary Headley at mheadley@magma.ca
New volunteers are needed for children’s liturgy. Parents of children who attend on Sunday mornings are especially invited to join our team, however, everyone is welcome, including teens. The time commitment in the past has been one Sunday (liturgy during Mass) every six weeks, as well as some preparation time. Small Christian Community is starting up at Good Shepherd Parish to provide a warm and welcoming place for the community to gather together regularly which offers people a chance to slow down, share coffee, be a bit more reflective about life, to sift and sort things that count, and provide more in-depth reflection on the Sunday readings. All those interested in playing Euchre are invited to attend on Monday, September 24 at 7:00 – 9:00 pm in the social space. Other dates are Oct. 15 & 29 and Nov. 12 & 26.Note from Finance Council Rome was not built in a day and so it is with our signs. These beautiful signs are a work in progress. Now that they are erected and some signage has been installed, we realize that the lettering, while visible up close, is not clearly visible from a distance. We are working to correct this and will complete the signs with the crosses, church address, etc. as soon as possible. We have had many positive comments on the beauty and design of these signs and; at this time, we would like to thank you for your patience while we complete this project.Waupoos is thrilled to announce that we have received $40,600 in funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to renovate our aging cottages. We are looking for volunteers to help the Knights of Columbus do the work. The project runs from Oct 15th through Nov 30th. Currently, we are looking for: Project Manager (most likely someone who is a retired contractor) Plumber, and Siding installer. We may also need an electrician and window/door installer.Hoping to see you around the farm.
