The First Sunday of Advent
December 2, 2007
Evening Prayer and Exposition for Advent: As daylight begins to fade, the Christian community is invited to come together to praise and thank God for the gifts of the day.  Our parish will offer evening praise on Wednesdays of Advent, Dec. 5,12 & 19.  Beginning at 7:00 pm the services includes the celebration of light, spoken and sun scripture, prayer and reflection.   Following the service, there will exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 8:00 pm.
RCIA   Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults As the Catechumenate begins, our parish community offers specific encouragement and witness to the inquirers through the assistance of individual Catholics called “sponsors”.  What is a sponsor?  A sponsor becomes a companion to an individual inquirer on his/her journey in faith.  The sponsor personally encourages the inquirer in every way possible.  He or she prays for and with the inquirer, invites and accompanies the individual to parish celebrations and shares personal stories of what it means to be a Catholic. We ask the parish community to unite in prayer with the members of the RCIA group as this faith journey continues. For further information, please call the parish office at 824-4394 or Pat LaViolette.
CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF MARY: Eucharistic Celebration on Sat., Dec. 8, 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Basilica Cathedral. All are invited to attend.
Canada Must Oppose Privatization of Water and recognize water as a Basic Human Right! A reality that has direct and harmful consequences on the levels of health, education, poverty, social development, and gender equity in the lives of the world’s poor.
