CATECHESIS ON THE EUCHARIST: To prepare spiritually for the International Eucharist Congress (to be held in Quebec City, June 2008) a series of catechetical evenings are being offered for all who are interested. They take place 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. (Note: * indicates Mass 7:00 p.m.; catechesis 7:30 p.m.) as follows:
Catechesis 4 - The Eucharist Builds up the Church, People of the New Covenant, Wed., Jan. 9, Holy Redeemer *
Catechesis 5 – The Eucharist: The Life of Christ in our lives, Wed., Feb. 20 at St John the Apostle
Catechesis 6 – Eucharist and the Mission, Wed., March 12 at Good Shepherd
Catechesis 7 – Witnesses to the Eucharist in the World, Wed., April 16 at St Anthony’s
Catechesis 8 – Invitation to the wedding at Cana, Tues., May 6 at St Isidore’s
Permanent Diaconate Formation Program – Information Day: Diocesan Centre, 1247 Kilborn Place (look for room info at entrance). Sat., Jan. 26, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Interested parishioners are asked to attend. Info: Deacon Michael Seath (613-834-1840).
WHY DO WE CELEBRATE SUNDAY EUCHARIST? A formation session for all the baptized, and an excellent way to prepare for the Eucharistic Congress. With Fr. Roy Roberts and Fr. Bill Burke. Sat., Jan. 12, 2008, 9:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Diocesan Centre, 1247 Kilborn. Cost: $15 (bring your own lunch). Registration deadline: Mon., Jan. 7 (613-738-5025, ext. 217, abrown@ecclesia-ottawa.org).
Ribbon of Signatures Campaign is to address those who wilfully, or through negligence of their duties, allow the internet to be used to publish astronomical amounts of child pornography.The ribbon states: "Internet Service Providers (ISPs) help protect our children from on-line predators". The signed ribbon will be sent to the Chairman of the CRTC. Please take a moment to sign the white ribbon in the gathering space the weekend of Jan. 12-13 for the Ribbon of Signatures Campaign to address child pornography on the internet.

Boys & girls ages 6-10 are invited to Know Jesus, Love Jesus and Share Jesus through discussions, games, crafts and more. We meet one Friday evening/month from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Cost: $10 for season. Register by phone contacting Patty MacCarthy. Meeting dates are: Jan 11, Feb 8, Mar 7, Apr 11, May 9 and June 13.
SUPPORT TO THE SEPARATED AND DIVORCED: This ministry will take a break for the Christmas period, and start up again on January 16, 2008 with a talk by a lawyer - Raquel Beesley - on the issue of Mediation versus Court Action in cases of separation and divorce. Our Support Group for those experiencing the trauma of separation or divorce will meet on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. as follows: Jan 16 & 30, March 15 & 19, April 2 & 16, and May 7 & 21.
ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY: History, Relations, Issues, and Perspectives. A ten week course, Monday evenings, Jan. 7 Mar. 10, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Facilitated by Dr. Safaa Fouda and Sister Jean Goulet, csc. Offered by the Ottawa Lay School of Theology. All Saints Westboro Anglican Church, 347 Richmond Road, W. of Churchill Ave. $50 for the course, $10 students. Registration: (www.olst.ca) or on Jan. 7.
