Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) Rite of Election
During the season of Lent, we are called to a profound conversion of life. We are called to remember all that the Lord has done for us. We are called to let God change our hearts and have a greater place in our daily lives. On the first Sunday in Lent, a great sign of conversion for our Parish will be our catechumens who will be undergoing the Rite of Election at Notre Dame Cathedral. Our baptized candidates will be there to support them. The catechumens are proclaiming to us that they believe that God has called them to participate in the Easter mysteries of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, or for our candidates already baptized, to enter into full communion. They are entering into a more intense preparation of purification and enlightenment. We, the Church, ratify their choice and support them with our prayers and encouragement. We welcome them even more into our midst and witness our faith to them as they, by their conversion, call us also to conversion. They are:
Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist - Mel Evenson, Sheila Robin
Confirmation, Eucharist - Mark Savenkoff
Eucharist - Geoff Clarke
REMINDER to children receiving Confirmation & First Eucharist this year. The next required Mass and Catechesis Session is Sunday, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10 at the 9:00 am Mass. They are required to attend one of these Sunday Masses and stay for the half-hour of instruction afterwards. Also the next Parent & Child meeting is Tues. Feb. 19 and Thurs. Feb. 21 at 7:00 PM. Both parent and child are required to attend one of these meeting dates and bring the completed workbook "Come Join Us at the Table" along with the address of church where child was baptized and name and complete address of your child's sponsor.
