Third Sunday of Easter
April 6, 2008

At Emmaus, the disciples recognized Jesus when they shared a meal with him.
In the same way, we recognize Jesus in our Eucharistic meal.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
Our Celebration of the Easter Vigil was an experience we will never forget!  From the lighting of the new fire and sharing the light of Christ, to our receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, we felt an overwhelming sense of God’s presence and of belonging to the Church.  We wish to thank the parish community for your support, warm welcome, prayer and accompaniment during the time of our preparation for these sacraments.  We appreciated your good wishes and the wonderful reception after Mass.  We are deeply grateful to all parishioners who contributed in any way to the moving liturgy during which we were received into full communion with you as Church.  During these days of the Easter season, we are beginning to experience the blessings of our first days and weeks as fully initiated Catholics. We ask for your prayers as we journey onward and begin to discern our call to be sent in Jesus’ name to witness to the Gospel.  The seven weeks of Eastertime, from Easter Sunday to Pentecost, form the fourth and final step of the RCIA process.  This step is titled mystagogy.  Mel Evenson, Sheila Robin, Geoff Clarke, Mark Savenkoff.
