We are called to tend the vineyards of the Lord who will judge our efforts at the end of time.
ARCHBISHOP’S CHARITY DINNER:  On Tues., Oct. 28, Archbishop Prendergast will host his First Annual Charity Dinner at the Hampton Inn Conference Centre, Ottawa. This year, the fundraiser will be in support of Youth Ministry.  Tickets: $125 each, or $1,000 for a table of eight (8), (see Ticket Order Form).  Charitable tax receipt of $60 will be issued for every ticket purchased on an individual basis. Oct. 7 - CWL GENERAL MEETING in social space. One week earlier due to election. Youth who attended World Youth Day in Australia will speak about their experience.
HARVEST POTLUCK FUNDRAISER.  Sign up now for the potluck and come and enjoy a fun filled evening with us while helping raise money for our parish.  But don't wait too long - remember spaces are limited - last year we had to turn people away due to fire regulations!  We will have our silent auction once again, karaoke and 50/50 draws.  Also the DVD of the Fr. Joe years is available.  Bring your wallet and start your Christmas shopping early!  The food will be the best in town - yours, and the company promises to be excellent - your friends and family.  See you Sat. October 18th after the 5:00 p.m. Mass.   And don't forget to buy some raffle tickets for those 3 wonderful prizes!!
Kids 4 Jesus (K4J) childrens’ club begins an exciting new season on Oct. 24th.  Boys & girls ages 6-10 are invited to Know Jesus, Love Jesus and Share Jesus through discussions, games, crafts and more.  We meet one Friday evening/month from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Cost $12/season.  Register before Oct. 17th by calling Patty MacCarthy 613-834-1657.  Meeting dates are: Nov 21, Dec 12, Jan 9, Feb 13, Mar 13, Apr 24, May 8, Jun 5.
MUSIC - The Good Shepherd Parish music ministry needs an accompanist for the cantor, once a month on the second Saturday of the month at the 5pm Mass.  If you are able and willing to share your talents, please contact Charlotte Gupta
YOUTH:  Our regular Friday night program will be canceled on Oct 10th.  Enjoy the weekend with your families, and see you back at 7pm on Oct 17th!

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
The RCIA meet every Tuesday evening in the Day Chapel (7:30-9:00 pm).  If you are interested in learning about the beliefs of the Catholic Church, in becoming a member of the Catholic Church, or preparing to complete the Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and/or Eucharist), this is the group for you!  For more information, please call the Parish office at 824-4394.
ConQuest Boys Club: Forged in Virtue. Called to Serve. For boys between the ages of 4 and 14 years old. ConQuest is based on Catholic principles of spiritual development. Its programs are designed to instill virtue, develop character and encourage spiritual growth, while offering its participants challenging physical, intellectual and spiritual activities within an atmosphere of adventure. 40 DAYS OF LIFE : THE GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH - Christians throughout Ottawa are invited to take part in the national 40 Days for Life effort from September 24 through November 2. In addition to 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in Canada & the U.S, please consider volunteering to pray outside of the abortion site at 65 Bank Street (corner of Bank and Sparks,) for one or more hours during the 40 days.
