Stations of the Cross - The Stations of the Cross will be held on Friday evenings at 7:00 pm during Lent.

General: For the Synod of Bishops. That the Synod of Bishops may help all those engaged in the service of the Word of God to transmit the truth of faith courageously in communion with the entire Church.
Mission: For Participation in the Church’s Universal Mission. That in this month dedicated to the missions, every Christian community may feel the need to participate in the universal mission with prayer, sacrifice, and concrete help.
ARCHBISHOP’S CHARITY DINNER – SOLD OUT:  The First Annual Archbishop’s Charity Dinner on Tues., Oct. 28, is now sold out.  Support for this important event in the life of the Archdiocese has been tremendous… and it continues with donations and sponsorships.  Thank you.  Info: (613-738-5025, ext. 235); (jdagenais@ecclesia-ottawa.org).
LAST CHANCE!  Yes, this is the last weekend before our HARVEST POTLUCK FUNDRAISER.  Sign up for the potluck and bring  your favourite dish to  share with friends and family.  We will have karaoke,  50/50 draws, a wonderful silent auction table and much more.  The souvenir DVD of 'The Father Joe Years' will be available and our raffle will be drawn.  It all happens on SATURDAY OCTOBER 18th after the 5:00 p.m. Mass.  Bring your 'mad money' and help make this event a success - after all it is for us - it's our parish!!     
NATIONAL COLLECTION FOR EVANGELIZATION OF THE NATIONS – will take place next weekend, October 18 & 19.
KIDS 4 JESUS (K4J) Children’s Club begins an exciting new season on Oct. 24th.  Boys & girls ages 6-10 are invited to Know Jesus, Love Jesus and Share Jesus through discussions, games, crafts and more.  We meet one Friday evening/month from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Cost $12/season.  Register before Oct. 17th by calling Patty MacCarthy   Meeting dates are: Nov 21, Dec 12, Jan 9, Feb 13, Mar 13, Apr 24, May 8, Jun 5.
CWL ELECTIONS – To be held on Tuesday, December 9th.
Nomination forms will be available in the gathering space after Mass on October 18 & 19 for CWL members. We ask that all completed forms be returned by Friday, November 21st either by mail or placed in the nomination box located in the gathering space.
YOUTH:  Our regular Friday night program will be canceled on Oct 10th.  Enjoy the weekend with your families, and see you back at 7pm on Oct 17th!
QUEEN OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY YOUNG ADULTS GROUP: Presents a series of talks on St. Paul’s writings. Held once a month.  First meeting is October 17, 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall, 20 Grant Street.  Info: contact Sr. Monique Bisson or Sr. Anna Chan (qmhryoungadultsgroup@yahoo.ca).

40 DAYS OF LIFE : THE GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH - Christians throughout Ottawa are invited to take part in the national 40 Days for Life effort from September 24 through November 2. In addition to 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in Canada & the U.S, please consider volunteering to pray outside of the abortion site at 65 Bank Street (corner of Bank and Sparks,) for one or more hours during the 40 days. The Annual Ecumenical Day of Sharing and Reflection, sponsored by the Ottawa Women's Inter-Church Council, will be held on Saturday, 25 October 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive at Cunningham.  The theme, “In Christ There are Many Members But One Body”, will be highlighted through worship, music, special presentations, Bible study, and colourful displays. Join us to learn about Papua New Guinea, the World Day of Prayer focus country for 2009 and to help celebrate the  90th birthday of the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada.
