From the rising of the sun to its setting, there is no God but God. Let Israel praise the Lord!
NATIONAL COLLECTION FOR EVANGELIZATION OF THE NATIONS – At the instigation of Pope Pius XI in 1926, the second last Sunday of the month of October of each year is World Mission Day. It is a time for Catholics throughout the world to pray for mission and to make a gesture of sharing. This Sunday’s National Collection is organized by the Pontifical Commission of the Propagation of the Faith – Missio Canada. The sums collected are used to sustain the 1075 dioceses that come under the jurisdiction of the Congregation of the Evangelization of the Nations in Rome. Missio Canada takes advantage of World Mission Day to invite heads of Christian communities to stimulate missionary conscience, to promote missionary vocations and to cooperate, spiritually and materially, in the missionary activity of the Church.
