February 15, 2009
Let us come with jubilation into the presence of the Lord, who call us and gives us fullness of life.
SHROVE TUESDAY MASS (February 24th) will be celebrated at 9:00 AM and ASH WEDNESDAY MASS (February 25th) will be celebrated at 7:00 PM only.
SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER – The Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual Parish Pancake and Sausage Supper on Shrove Tuesday, February 24th from 5-7 PM in the Social Space. Tickets are $5.00 per person or $15.00 per family. Tickets can be purchased after all Masses this weekend and next weekend.
50’s Bash! February 21st, 7:00 PM. All ages, lots of fun! Music, munchies, drinks and floats. What better way to support the youth of the parish! No dance talent or costume required. Tickets are $10 per person, $20 for a family of 4 (each additional person $5 to a maximum of $30). Tickets available at the door.
JOIN THE YOUTH CHOIR! Any teens or children interested singing or playing with the youth are welcome to contact Kat. We have Monday evening rehearsal and sing one Saturday Mass per month.
BANNERS - After learning about St Paul, the youth chose the themes of Conversion, Preaching, Writing and Martyrdom for the banners. The verses are taken from the biblical texts attributed to St Paul, and were chosen by the youth to represent each of these four themes of the person and works of St Paul. The Red cloth symbolizes martyrdom; the sword symbolizes the struggle of faith; the white eyes show his blinding by God when he met Jesus. Saul was healed through Ananias, and became the servant of God we know as St Paul.
MUSIC MINISTRY - The Good Shepherd Parish music ministry needs an accompanist for the Cantor, once a month, every second Saturday at the 5PM Mass. If you are able and willing to share your talents, please contact Charlotte Gupta
“ST. PAUL’S JOURNEY” Saturday, 28 February 2009, 9:00 AM to 12PM (Parish Social Space). Join us for an exploration of the social, political, and religious world of St. Paul, and a reflection on how these cultural factors influenced his faith journey and message. No charge. Bring your Bible. For registration or information contact Deacon Ron
