The Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
August 26, 2007
2007 Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada: For over 60 years, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop (CCCB) has been assisting the Church in Canada. Today, it remains at the service of families. You may have read one of the leaflets on family and prayer, on world peace and the family, or on Christian families as Good News for the world. These messages were prepared by the Catholic Organization for Life and Family (COLF), an organization created by the CCCB and the Knights of Columbus. Its latest publication was just released this September. “The Media: A Fascinating Challenge for the Family” invites parents to be attentive and to mediate the power that television, the Internet, video games and publicity have over children. This document and others can be read at www.colf.ca. The Bishop’s collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada will be held Sunday, September 30, 2007.

Finance Council continues to stress the advantages for the parish and for your budgeting purposes of the pre-authorized payment contribution, whether by debit or Visa/Mastercard. To meet our monthly expenses we require approx. $7,000 per week which includes our mortgage payment of approx. $2,000 a week; any excess is used to pay the finishing construction costs or to pay down the mortgage.
On behalf of Father Andrew Obel the parish thanks you for your support of the Mission for the Archdiocese of Tororo in Uganda, East Africa. A reminder that Revenue Canada does not allow receipts to be given for monies leaving Canada.
