RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITITION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
What is the RCIA? A process of self-study and discussion that is held in the context of prayer, shared experiences and listening to God’s Word. It is a team of parishioners who will ‘journey” with you. There is no obligation on the part of any Non-Catholic participant to become a Catholic. It is a matter of inquiry and free choice. Who can attend? Non-Catholics who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith, and Catholics who wish to refresh their knowledge of their faith, and anyone who is planning to complete the Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and/or Eucharist). We also welcome those who are accompanying the participants on their ‘journey’. When? Weekly meetings beginning September 18, Tuesday evening at Good Shepherd in the Holy Family room starting at 7:30. For more information, please call Pat LaViolette or the Parish office at 824-4394.
Sacramental Meeting: Registration is mandatory and will be held at Good Shepherd Parish on Tuesday, September 18 at 7pm or Thursday, September 20 at 7pm. All parents of children in grade two preparing for First Eucharist & Confirmation and any older children who have not as yet received these sacraments should attend. Parents are asked to bring with them a photocopy of the child’s baptismal certificate. This document is required for registration and will not be returned. Parents are also asked to bring $50.00 to purchase workbooks, etc. please use a cheque payable to Good Shepherd Parish; (Late Registration fee is $60.00). Once again we will have Karaoke (let s see if we can have Fr. Muldoon sing for his supper again this year!), 50/50 draws, a silent auction and amusements for the children, amongst other things. The silent auction forms the major financial benefit of this event. If you own a company or work for a company you think would donate an item or service for this auction, please call Doreen Dumont (613-834-7137) or the office at 613-824-4394.

New to the Parish? Welcome! Please fill in a registration form, or call the office. Have you considered sharing your material blessings with your parish as part of your estate planning? A gift to Good Shepherd parish in your will assures the community of the Gospel being passed on to many.
Finance Council continues to stress the advantages for the parish and for your budgeting purposes of the pre-authorized payment contribution, whether by debit or Visa/Mastercard. To meet our monthly expenses we require approx. $7,000 per week which includes our mortgage payment of approx. $2,000 a week; any excess is used to pay the finishing construction costs or to pay down the mortgage.

Small Christian Community is starting up at Good Shepherd Parish to provide a warm and welcoming place for the community to gather together regularly which offers people a chance to slow down, share coffee, be a bit more reflective about life, to sift and sort things that count, and provide more in-depth reflection on the Sunday readings. It will be held every Saturday from 10:30am-12:00noon (subject to change). Come join us! For further information, e-mail Deacon Paul (& Lillian) Delmas @ delmas@rogers.com, Angelita Guevara @ angelitaguevara@gmail.com or contact the Parish Office
