Our 2nd Annual "Reverse Advent Calendar Project" runs from the first weekend of Advent (November 30/December 1) and involves the daily accumulation of a non-perishable food item to be kept at home. Then, on Saturday, January 5 (weather permitting), you will be asked to bring your donation to the lot of church to be put directly on a truck and delivered to the Life Centre Food Bank on Innes Road. Since the Food Bank is almost depleted after Christmas, our donations will help fill their shelves again! We are the stewards or our good fortune. Although we cannot bring gold, frankincense and myrrh to our King at His birth, we can bring smaller gifts – given with love, in His name. Let’s prayerfully consider what changes might be needed to re-energize our giving this Advent. To get you started, here is a list of what is always missing from the shelves: Juice boxes, large cans of soup, cookies, crackers, jam, canned salmon, canned fruit, condiments, salt/pepper, tea/coffee, shampoo, soap, baby products and feminine hygiene products. Set aside a small space or box in your home where you can deposit your purchases. Each time you do, think about the family, single mom, or handicap person who will be so grateful to receive your gifts. You bless them with your generosity. Say a prayer each day…Come, Lord Jesus! …then place an item in your box.
** Please deliver your box to the church between 9:00 am – 12:00 Noon on Saturday 5 January 2019 **
